Heroin Use, Abuse and Addiction

Heroin is one of the most dangerous, life-threatening and addicted drugs that are used for recreational use. Heroine is highly addicted from the very first use and is actually a processed form of morphine which the individual will snort, inject or smoke.

Street names for heroin include smack, ska, H or junk which you may hear spoken and can warn you that someone is involved in this drug. Heroin use is highly dangerous due to the many short-term and long-term effects, some of which are life-threatening and include clouded thinking, confusion, euphoria, periods of being wakeful or drowsy, suppressed breathing and shallow breathing which can cause the person to overdose as well as a heightened risk of HIV/AIDS and hepatitis.

If you are addicted to heroin or know someone suffering from heroin abuse, contact your nearest drug rehab center to have this person admitted and begin to overcome the addiction.
